DashLeads

Restaurant reservation data: which restaurants book online, through which system, and which take none

Restaurant reservation data records, for each restaurant, whether it takes table bookings online and through which booking systems. DashLeads holds it for sit-down restaurants in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Berlin and London (bars, cafes, coffee shops, takeaway and fast food are excluded): 30% take online bookings and 70% show none. Sales teams at booking platforms and restaurant software companies can use it to decide which restaurants to call, and with which pitch. The six cities are examples: we can map restaurant booking for any country and any reservation platform.

Four maps of Paris, one per booking platform (TheFork, OpenTable, Zenchef and other tools), each showing the areas where restaurants on that platform are, against all restaurants in grey.

Stacked columns per price band: the share of sit-down restaurants that book online (3% at EUR 0 to 15 to 84% at EUR 60 and up), split into marketplace only, both, and own booking software only.

    Price decides who books online

At EUR 0 to 15 per person 3% of sit-down restaurants book online; at EUR 60 and up, 84% do. The best-qualified prospects sit at EUR 30 and up: 28% of sit-down restaurants at EUR 30+ per person show no booking platform.

Reservation data turns that into a list of named restaurants, grouped by booking situation:

    • No online booking found. The new-business list, best sorted by price and cuisine.
    • On a competitor only. One rival system and nothing else: the win-back and displacement list.
    • Marketplace only. Listed on a diner-side marketplace with no booking tool on its own website: the upsell list for white-label software.
    • Several systems. Restaurants juggling several tools: the consolidation pitch.
    • Quandoo link. In September, weeks before it stopped taking bookings, 6% of booking buttons on map listings in the six cities pointed to Quandoo, which stopped accepting new bookings after 30 September 2026 and is winding down; its site goes offline by 31 December.

    What the shares cover

    • Sit-down restaurants; bars, cafes, coffee shops, takeaway and fast food are excluded.
    • Shares cover the booking tools we could detect, so the true use of online booking is likely higher.
    • A listing shows where a restaurant can be booked, not how many bookings it takes.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I find out which reservation system a restaurant uses?

We combine several public sources per restaurant and match each booking system to the venue, so a restaurant counts once however many places show it.

How many restaurants take online bookings?

30% of sit-down restaurants across the six cities: Paris 37%, Barcelona 27%, Amsterdam 34%, Milan 33%, Berlin 23% and London 26%.

What is the difference between a platform listing and a booking taken through it?

A listing means the restaurant can be booked on that platform; it does not tell you how many bookings it takes there. The data shows where a restaurant is bookable, not booking volumes, availability or commissions.

Which cities and booking systems are covered?

Sit-down restaurants in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Berlin and London, and 90+ booking systems, from TheFork and OpenTable to own-website software such as Zenchef, Formitable, CoverManager, SevenRooms, Superb, Plateform, Guestplan, Tebi and resmio. These cities are examples: the same data can be built for any country and any reservation platform.

Can I get a list of restaurants with no online booking?

Yes: we deliver them as a list or export, marked Systems found = none. Detection can miss a hidden booking link, so treat it as the restaurants where no system was visible, and qualify on the first call.

    How accurate is it?

Every restaurant is checked against several sources. Some booking tools are hard to detect, so the true use of online booking is likely higher.

Can I match it to my CRM?

Yes: send us your customer list and we mark the restaurants you already serve, so the rest of the list is prospects. The list comes as a CSV export.

For sales leaders: the business case

A shared list of every restaurant and its booking system helps a sales leader in three ways.

    • Territories sized on the open market: restaurants with no online booking, on a competitor only, or on several systems, per city.
    • Faster win-backs: restaurants on a closed or rival platform flagged by name.
    • One list for the whole team, delivered as a list or CSV export. See pricing.
