Field sales

Restaurant and bar data for your field-sales app

Data for your field-sales app is the market view a rep's app does not hold: which bars, restaurants and cafes exist in a territory, what is on their menus and which ones to visit next; Dashmote supplies it for 20M+ venues in 60+ countries. It reaches the app or CRM your team already uses by file or API delivery, so reps keep the tool they know and open a better list in it.

What this is, and what it is not

What it is. Dashmote is the data and AI layer for teams selling into hospitality and retail outlets. It tells your field team which outlets exist in each territory, what they serve, which brands they list, how they look in recent venue photos, whether they sell on delivery apps, and how well each one fits the account you describe.

What it is not. It is not a CRM or an ordering tool. Tools such as Repsly, Pepperi, SPOTIO and Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud run that workflow: visits, orders, in-store tasks, notes and team management. Dashmote works alongside your CRM or field-sales app by file or API; a light mobile workspace for reps (visit lists) is available as an optional add-on.

If you are choosing a rep app, choose it for the workflow your reps run every day. Then ask where its outlet list comes from.

The gap in most field-sales tools

A field-sales app is only as good as the account list loaded into it. In most beverage and food companies that list started as last year's customers, a distributor's export or a list a rep built by walking the streets. It shows the outlets you already know. It rarely shows:

    • The full market. Independents and new openings that no one has entered yet.
    • What the outlet sells today. The brands on its menu and whether a competitor is listed instead of you.
    • How it looks inside. Whose cooler, signage or tap handles appear in the latest venue photo.
    • Its second shelf. Whether it sells on delivery apps, and what it lists there.
    • Where to start. Which of hundreds of outlets in a territory fits your product best this week.

That is the data Dashmote adds. The rep app keeps doing what it does well.

What reaches your app or CRM

Each row your team loads carries the outlet's identity and address, its channel, whether it is an independent or part of a chain, the brands on its menu, its delivery listings, its fit score and a flag for whether it is already your account. Coverage, menu and freshness facts for the whole outlet database are on the foodservice sales intelligence page.

How it gets there: file or API

There are two ways in, and neither needs an implementation project.

    1. File. Export a scored outlet list per territory as a CSV, and your CRM or sales ops team loads it like any other account data.
    2. API. Teams that pull data into their own systems take outlet records and scores through the API.

Before either, CRM account matching links your current customer list to the outlet records, so the accounts you already serve are marked and new doors arrive flagged as new. From there the planner can plan the week's visits and assign territories, and the rep opens the visit list in the app they already use.

Questions to ask any field-sales tool about data

Whichever app you run, these questions show whether its outlet list will help reps find new accounts:

    • Where does the outlet list come from? Your own customers only, or the whole market?
    • How many outlets does it hold in my territory? Compare that with a market count for the same area.
    • What is on each record? Address and category only, or menus, brands, photos and delivery listings?
    • How fresh is it? Ask how often records are updated and how many new openings were added in the last 90 days.
    • Can I import a scored list? By file or API, with current accounts kept apart from new ones.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best field sales app for a beverage brand selling to bars and restaurants?

The best app is the one your reps will use every day for visits and orders; tools such as Repsly, Pepperi, SPOTIO and Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud are common choices. What makes any of them work for finding new accounts is the outlet data loaded into it, and that is what Dashmote supplies.

Is Dashmote an alternative to Repsly, Pepperi or SPOTIO?

No. Those tools run the rep's workflow; Dashmote supplies the outlets, signals and scores behind it, by file or API delivery into your CRM or app.

How do I get a list of target outlets into Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud?

Export a scored outlet list from Dashmote as a CSV and load it as account data, or pull records through the API. CRM matching marks the outlets that are already your accounts, so only new doors are added as new.

What tools do beer distributors use to find new on-premise accounts?

Most use a field-sales app or CRM for visits and orders, plus an outlet data source for the market view. Dashmote is that data source: it shows which pubs and bars list which beers and which ones fit your range. See beer and cider data.

Do we need an implementation project?

No. Dashmote is off the shelf: you can start tomorrow with a scored list for one territory, delivered as a file, and add the API later if your systems team wants it.

For the Head of Sales: the business case

Better data in the app you already pay for is the cheapest upgrade to a field team.

    • Fewer wasted visits. Reps open a ranked list, with the menu and competitor already known.
    • New doors you can name. Fitting outlets you do not serve yet, counted per territory.
    • Nothing new to roll out. Off the shelf, by file or API, with lead packs per territory or full access as set out on our pricing page.
