Key findings
- In September 2026, 32% of UK delivery storefronts sold ice cream, against 23% in the Netherlands, 18% in Germany and 4% in Brazil.
- Ben & Jerry's appears on 17% of UK storefronts, followed by Magnum at 10%, Häagen-Dazs at 9% and Cornetto at 8%.
- In Germany 48% of storefronts have a dessert section, but only 18% sell ice cream.
- In the Netherlands, Ben & Jerry's is on 16% of storefronts and Magnum on 10%.
In September 2026, 32% of UK delivery storefronts sold ice cream, and Ben & Jerry's alone was listed by 17% of all UK storefronts. Ice cream is now a standard line on British delivery menus, but the opportunity is uneven: in the Netherlands 23% of storefronts sell it, in Germany 18%, and in Brazil only 4%, even though dessert menus are common in Europe.
For F&B brands, the take-away is that delivery has become a real ice cream channel in northern Europe, and that it is concentrated. A handful of pint and stick brands fill most of the delivery freezer, and they appear both on restaurant dessert menus and in the freezer aisles of grocery and convenience storefronts.
Desserts are everywhere, ice cream is not
About half of UK and German storefronts have a dessert section, but far fewer sell ice cream. The figures cover every item on the full delivery menus of four markets: 440,000+ storefronts with a full menu in the UK, 120,000+ in Germany, 32,000+ in the Netherlands and the leading app in Brazil (one storefront is one restaurant or shop on one app). A storefront counts as selling ice cream when a menu item is named as ice cream, gelato or sorbet, or carries a known ice cream brand. It has a dessert section when one of its menu sections is named as desserts or ice cream.
In the UK, 51% of storefronts have a dessert section and 32% sell ice cream. Germany has almost the same appetite for desserts (48% with a dessert section) but converts less of it into ice cream (18%). The Netherlands has 40% and 23%. Brazil is a different market altogether: 13% of storefronts have a dessert section and 4% sell ice cream, with açaí bowls, which we do not count as ice cream, filling much of the frozen-dessert space.

In the UK, one brand is on 17% of menus
Ben & Jerry's is the clear leader, with Magnum and Häagen-Dazs a long way behind. Ben & Jerry's appears on 17% of UK storefronts. Magnum follows at 10%, Häagen-Dazs at 9% and Cornetto at 8%. Stick and impulse formats come next: Solero (7%) and Calippo (6%). Carte d'Or (5%), Viennetta (5%), the mochi brand Little Moons (4%) and Halo Top (2%) complete the top ten.

The same leader holds on the continent, with a smaller field. In the Netherlands Ben & Jerry's is on 16% of storefronts and Magnum on 10%, while no other brand passes 2%. In Germany Ben & Jerry's reaches 8% and Magnum 3%. In Brazil, no international ice cream brand reaches 1% of storefronts: the Brazilian brand Kibon is listed by 900+ of them.
Magnum, Cornetto and Ben & Jerry's across markets
Ben & Jerry's is listed by 17% of UK storefronts, against 10% for Magnum and 9% for Häagen-Dazs, and 51% of UK storefronts have a dessert section. Magnum is on 10% of UK storefronts and Cornetto on 8%. In the Netherlands, Ben & Jerry's is on 16% and Magnum on 10%.

Why now
Delivery apps have turned into convenience stores, and ice cream is one of the categories that benefits most: it is an impulse buy, it is hard to carry home in summer, and it raises the value of a dinner order. The followers are within reach of the leader, and newer formats such as mochi and low-calorie pints are already on several thousand UK storefronts each, so the next gains will be fought storefront by storefront.
What F&B brands should do
- Treat delivery as a distribution channel with its own numbers. Track how many storefronts list your brand, by market and by app, the same way you track retail distribution.
- Close the dessert gap. In Germany and the Netherlands far more storefronts have a dessert section than sell ice cream. Those menus are the easiest place to win new listings.
- Pick formats per channel. Pints win on grocery and convenience storefronts; sticks, cones and mochi fit restaurant dessert sections.
- Do not copy the playbook to every market. In Brazil, international ice cream brands barely register on delivery, and the frozen-dessert occasion runs through açaí and local brands.
