First published on or before 14 April 2023. Updated October 2026 with 2026 data.

Oreo leads sweet brands on UK and Dutch delivery menus, Nutella in Germany and Brazil. Dessert brands win restaurants; bars sell via shops.
Key findings
- Oreo appears on 25% of UK delivery storefronts with a full menu and 10% in the Netherlands.
- Nutella leads in Germany (7%) and Brazil (10%).
- Among UK restaurants only, Oreo still reaches 18% and Lotus Biscoff 14%.
- Cadbury, listed by 11% of all UK storefronts, appears on just 2% of restaurant menus.
- Mondelez reaches 27% of UK storefronts and Ferrero 23%.
Oreo is the most listed sweet brand on UK and Dutch delivery menus in 2026, but it does not lead everywhere. Oreo appears on 25% of UK delivery storefronts with a full menu and 10% in the Netherlands, while Nutella leads in Germany (7%) and Brazil (10%).
For chocolate and confectionery brands the bigger lesson is where those listings come from. On restaurant menus, the brands that win are the ones that become a dessert: Oreo shakes, Biscoff cheesecake, Nutella crepes, Kinder Bueno waffles. Classic chocolate bars sell mostly through the convenience stores on the same apps.
Oreo and Nutella lead the delivery dessert menu
Two brands top every market covered, and both are dessert ingredients as much as snacks. Across the full delivery menus of 440,000+ storefronts with a full menu in the United Kingdom, 120,000+ in Germany, 32,000+ in the Netherlands and the leading app in Brazil, the share of storefronts listing each brand in an item name tells the story.

- United Kingdom: Oreo (25%) is followed by Lotus Biscoff (20%), Kinder (17%), Nutella (16%) and Ferrero Rocher (15%). The UK is by far the sweetest delivery market of the four.
- Netherlands: Oreo (10%) leads Nutella (6%) and M&M's (6%).
- Germany: Nutella (7%) edges Oreo (6%), with Milka (3%) the local name in the top five.
- Brazil: Nutella (10%) leads by a distance, followed by Prestígio (6%), a coconut chocolate bar whose name doubles as a dessert flavour, Oreo (4%) and the malt drink Ovomaltine (4%), a milkshake staple.
Ferrero and Mondelez reach the most menus
At company level, Mondelez leads in the UK and the Netherlands and Ferrero leads in Germany and Brazil. Counting each storefront once if it lists any brand of the company, Mondelez reaches 27% of UK storefronts and Ferrero 23%. In Brazil, Ferrero reaches 12% and Nestlé 7%, ahead of Mondelez at 5%. Mars Wrigley reaches 18% of UK storefronts but only 2% in Brazil.

In restaurants, dessert brands beat chocolate bars
Restaurants list the brands they can cook with. Among UK restaurants only, Oreo still reaches 18% and Lotus Biscoff 14%. Cadbury, listed by 11% of all UK storefronts, appears on just 2% of restaurant menus, and M&M's falls from 11% to 2%. Those bars are sold by the convenience stores and shops on the apps, not by the kitchens.

Then and now: 2022 and 2026 side by side
Oreo is at or near the top in 2022 and 2026 alike; in the 2026 markets, dessert brands outrank chocolate bars. In our US analysis of Q3 2022, Oreo was listed by 14% of storefronts, followed by M&M's (9%), Mars (8%), Reese's (8%) and Hershey's (7%), and Mars, Incorporated held 35% of chocolate brand listings. The 2023 candy edition found Skittles on 7% of DoorDash storefronts and Haribo on 7%.
In 2026 the markets are different (our 2026 menu data covers the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Brazil, not the US), so read the levels side by side rather than as growth. Oreo is in the top three in all four markets, and in the UK it reaches 25% of storefronts. The new names near the top, Lotus Biscoff, Kinder and Nutella, are spreads and biscuits that restaurants bake into desserts. Candy holds its own in the UK, with Skittles on 10% of storefronts and Haribo on 10%.
Why this matters now
Dessert is where delivery restaurants add margin, and branded desserts are how they stand out. Every Oreo shake or Biscoff cheesecake is a brand placement the restaurant chose and the customer sees by name. Those placements are won kitchen by kitchen, and they change every time a menu is rewritten.
What chocolate and confectionery brands should do
- Become an ingredient. The brands that reach restaurant menus are the ones restaurants can put in a shake, a waffle or a cheesecake. Make that easy with foodservice packs and recipes.
- Pick the right door per market. In the UK, bars sell through shops and dessert brands through kitchens; plan both channels separately.
- Track the local leader. Nutella leads in Germany and Brazil, Oreo in the UK and the Netherlands. The fight for second place is where a challenger can move fastest.
- Find the dessert restaurants that do not list you yet. Dessert-led storefronts are a short, identifiable list in every city.
