A beer on a restaurant delivery menu costs far more in the United Kingdom than on the continent. In September 2026 the median single bottle or can on UK delivery menus cost £4.95 (€5.77), against €3.50 in both the Netherlands and Germany.
For beer brands the second finding matters as much as the first: each market has its own house beer. Heineken is listed by 73% of Dutch restaurants that sell a named beer on delivery, Beck's by 33% of German ones and Peroni by 46% of British ones. Price and presence both play out market by market.
The UK is the most expensive place to order a beer
Every brand we compared costs more on UK delivery menus than in the Netherlands or Germany. The comparison covers the full delivery menus of 380,000+ restaurant storefronts with a full menu in the United Kingdom, 110,000+ in Germany and 31,000+ in the Netherlands (menus of mainly prepared food; supermarkets and shops excluded), using the median price of single bottles and cans of regular beer, leaving out multipacks, buckets, meal deals and alcohol-free versions.

- United Kingdom: Peroni is the priciest of the five at a median of €6.12, ahead of Asahi (€5.83), Corona (€5.77) and Budweiser (€5.24). Heineken (€4.66) and Budweiser (€5.24) are the cheapest; for a 330 ml bottle or can the two are level at about £3.95.
- Netherlands: Heineken costs €3.25, the cheapest of the five brands in any of the three markets, while Corona, Peroni and Asahi each cost €4.00.
- Germany: Budweiser (€3.38) and Heineken (€3.50) are cheapest; Asahi and Corona sit at €4.50 and €4.00. The local favourite Beck's is cheaper still at €2.99.
UK prices are converted from pounds at the European Central Bank's average rate for September 2026.
Each market has its own house beer
Delivery menus are dominated by one brand per country, and it is a different brand each time. Of the restaurants that list a named beer on delivery (25,000+ in the UK, 8,000+ in the Netherlands and 32,000+ in Germany), these are the brands they choose.

- Netherlands: Heineken is close to a default, on 73% of beer-listing restaurants; Amstel follows at 8%.
- United Kingdom: Peroni (46%) and Corona (39%) lead, with Budweiser (23%), Birra Moretti (11%) and Guinness (11%) behind. An Italian and a Mexican lager are the UK's delivery beers of choice.
- Germany: Beck's leads at 33%, followed by Paulaner (16%) and Krombacher (15%). German delivery is the most domestic of the three.
Beer is also a much smaller part of UK delivery. Only 7% of UK restaurant storefronts list a named beer, against 26% in the Netherlands and 27% in Germany.
UK beer prices on delivery in 2026
A beer on UK restaurant delivery menus cost €5.97 on average in September 2026. Peroni is the priciest of the five brands at €6.34, followed by Asahi (€6.00), Corona (€5.74), Heineken (€5.58) and Budweiser (€5.41).

In the Netherlands the average beer on restaurant delivery costs €4.08.
Why this matters now
On delivery, the menu is the shelf, and price is printed next to every brand. A customer ordering a pizza sees the beer, the brand and the price in one glance, and compares nothing else. With the average UK delivery beer close to €6, that glance counts for more.
What beer brands should do
- Price for the channel, market by market. A UK delivery beer sells at a clear premium over a German one; promotions and pack sizes that work in one market will not carry over.
- Ride the cuisine. Find the cuisines whose restaurants already sell beer on delivery, and the restaurants among them that do not list you yet.
- Look for the markets where no single beer dominates. The UK and German beer lists are more open than the Dutch one, so a new brand has more room to win a place.
- Grow the beer list itself. With only 7% of UK restaurants listing a named beer, the biggest opportunity is getting beer onto more menus at all.
