Where do snacks sell outside the supermarket?

Snacks reach guests outside the shop in two places, and a brand needs to see both.

The first is the venue itself: the bar that sells a bag of crisps with a pint, the cafe with chocolate at the till, the restaurant with nuts on the bar menu. The second is the delivery basket: the sweets, crisps and chocolate bars that restaurants, convenience stores and dark stores list on delivery apps, often as an add-on to a meal.

Both are listings a guest can see, so both can be counted. Count the outlets that list your brand against every outlet in the territory you define and you have your numeric distribution out of home, measured from the market rather than from your own invoices.

The delivery view: listings, prices and combos

On delivery apps a snack lives on a menu, next to a price and often inside a bundle.

    • Listings. Which storefronts list your brand, which variant and which pack, and which list only a rival. See delivery menu brand tracking.
    • Prices. What your bar or bag costs per storefront and per app, and where it sits against a competitor in the same store. See delivery price monitoring.
    • Combos and add-ons. Which meal deals and "add a treat" offers include your snack, which include a rival's, and which outlets list you only on your own. See combo and meal deal tracking.

The on-premise view: what the venue lists

In bars, pubs and cafes, snacks show up on the menu and the drinks list: "crisps", "salted nuts", a named brand of chocolate with the coffee. Dashmote reads those menus and ties every brand it finds to an outlet record, so a field team can filter for venues that list a rival's snack and not yours, or list the category with no brand at all.

A menu that says "crisps" without a name is an open door for a named brand. A venue that lists drinks but no snacks at all is a different conversation. The menu data page sets out what is read per menu.

    Frequently asked questions

How can I see which delivery storefronts list my snack brand?

Dashmote reads full delivery menus and matches the brands named on them to each storefront, so you can filter for storefronts that list your brand, a rival's or neither, by city and by app.

Can I track snack prices on delivery apps?

Yes: the price of each listed product is recorded per storefront and per app, so you can compare it with your recommended price and with competing products in the same store.

Do you see snacks inside combos and meal deals?

Yes, where the bundle names them: combos and add-on offers are read from the menu, so you can see which ones include your snack and which include a rival's.

Does this cover bars and cafes as well as delivery?

Yes: menus of bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants are read the same way, so snacks named on a venue's own menu are counted per outlet too.

    Is this sales data?

No: it is listing, price and presence data per outlet. It complements your sell-in and sell-out data by showing the outlets where you are not listed yet.

Can I load the lists into our own tools?

Yes, by file or API: lists export as CSV or through the API into the tools your team already uses.

The business case for your Head of eCommerce

Snack teams spend on listings, promotions and trade terms with delivery partners and venue groups; the question is where each one lands.

    • Gaps you can name. The storefronts and venues that list a rival's snack and not yours, by city and by app, as a list your team can work.
    • Prices you can defend. Your price per store against your recommended price and against the rival on the same menu.
    • Bundles, not just listings. See where your snack rides along with a meal and where a competitor holds that slot.
