Meal deals on delivery apps: which ones carry your drink
Combo and meal deal tracking is the outlet-by-outlet record of which bundles on delivery apps include your product, which include a competitor's, and which outlets sell you only on your own, read from full delivery menus as of October 2026. Find the combos that sell a competitor's drink in outlets that already list yours, store by store, so you know where to ask for a place in the bundle.

Is my drink inside the meal deals?
In a combo the outlet picks the drink or the side, and the shopper picks the combo. If a burger meal comes with a competitor's cola, every order of that meal is a sale your brand never had a chance to win, even when your product sits on the same menu a few lines down.
That makes combos a separate fight from listing. An outlet can list your product and still leave it out of every bundle. The questions an eCommerce or category manager needs answered:
- In which outlets is my product part of a combo, and in which is it sold only on its own?
- Which combos name a competitor instead of me?
- Where is the drink in a combo a choice, and am I one of the choices?
- Which outlets sell combos and list my product, but never put the two together?
What you see per outlet and per combo
Each combo on a tracked menu is broken down into the items it contains and the choices it offers:
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Combo name and menu section | Which bundle it is and where it sits on the menu |
| Items in the combo | The main, the side and the drink as listed |
| Drink or side choices | Whether the item is fixed, or one of several options, and which brands are offered |
| Your product in the combo | Fixed, offered as an option, or absent |
| Competitor in the combo | Which competing brand is named, fixed or as an option |
| Your product on its own | Whether the outlet also sells it outside the combo |
| Date | When the combo was observed, so changes have a before and after |
A combo that offers 'a soft drink' without naming a brand is shown as unbranded, not as yours or a competitor's. Those outlets are often the easiest to win.
Combo KPIs and how to read them
Four measures cover most combo questions. The first is the combo attach rate in its outlet form.
| KPI | Formula | Question it answers |
|---|---|---|
| Combo inclusion rate | outlets with your product in at least one combo divided by outlets listing your product | When I am listed, am I also in the bundles? |
| Combo share | combos naming your brand divided by combos naming any brand in the category | Of the bundles in my category, how many are mine? |
| Combo gap | outlets that sell combos and list your product, with no combo naming it | Where is the easiest win? |
| Competitor-only combos | outlets whose combos name a competitor and never you | Where am I being displaced? |
Read inclusion and share together. A high inclusion rate with a low combo share means you are in some bundles at many outlets, while a competitor holds the main meal deals.
Worked example: your brand in one city
Take a soft drink brand in one city: 400 outlets list it on a delivery app. 260 of them sell combos that include a soft drink.
| Combo status | Outlets | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Your brand named in at least one combo | 150 | Monitor |
| Only a rival brand named in combos | 70 | Win-back list |
| Soft drink in combos, no brand named | 40 | Ask to name your brand |
Your brand's combo inclusion rate among the outlets that sell drink combos is 150 divided by 260, about 58%. The 70 outlets on the win-back list already sell your brand on its own, so the ask is small: swap or add it in the meal deal. The manager sorts the 70 by number of combos, takes the top 20 to the field team and sends the rest to the outlets' account contacts. Next refresh shows how many moved.
Limits worth knowing
Combos are counted when the app marks an item as a bundle or the menu puts it in a combo or meal deal section. A bundle written as a single dish with a drink in its description may be missed, so combo counts cover the bundles the menu marks as one. Combo detail needs full menus on record for a market. Frequently asked questions
How do I see which combos include my product on delivery apps?
Check each outlet's combos and meal deals item by item and record which brand each one names as the drink or side. Doing it per outlet shows both where you are in the bundle and where a competitor took the slot.
What is a combo attach rate?
A combo attach rate is the share of combos, or of outlets selling combos, that include your product. See combo attach rate for the formula and a worked example.
Does it show combos where the drink is a choice?
Yes. Where a combo lets the shopper choose the drink, you see which brands are offered as options and whether yours is among them, separately from combos with a fixed drink.
Can I compare my combos with a competitor's?
Yes. The same view shows combos naming each competitor brand, so you can compare combo share by city, outlet type and app.
Does this work for snacks and sides as well as drinks?
Yes. The combo view shows every item in a bundle, so a side or snack is visible the same way as a drink. Ask which of your products are set up for your market.
How often are combos checked?
Combos are checked monthly with the rest of the menu, and each observation is dated, so you can see when a combo appeared, changed or disappeared.

The business case for your Head of eCommerce
If combos are part of your delivery plan, these are the three points for the budget conversation:
- Displacement made visible: the outlets whose meal deals name a competitor are listed by name, so the team knows where volume leaks.
- Small asks, clear targets: outlets that already list you but leave you out of their bundles form a short, specific win-back list.
- Progress you can show: combo inclusion and combo share per city, with a date on every figure, so changes are visible refresh by refresh.
