    One group, several app names

Just Eat Takeaway.com trades under different names by country: Just Eat in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy and Spain, Lieferando in Germany and Austria, Thuisbezorgd.nl in the Netherlands, Takeaway.com in Belgium, Bulgaria and Luxembourg, Pyszne.pl in Poland and Eat.ch in Switzerland. The figures on this page count all of these apps together. The app named Just Eat runs in four of these countries, so figures for that app alone differ. For one sister app in detail, see Lieferando and Takeaway.com.

For a brand with a European range this is one platform with local names, reported with the same KPIs in every country. The storefront total counts listings, not orders or sales, and the local app name stays on the label so country teams recognise it.

Why menus on Just Eat vary more

A large share of restaurants on Just Eat and its sister apps deliver with their own drivers and maintain their own delivery menu, often typed in by the owner. That has three consequences for a brand:

    • Names vary. The same product can appear as "Cola 0,33", "Cola can" or the brand name with a typo, so product matching has to read pack size and format, not only the name.
    • Images are often missing. Owner-built menus show fewer product images, which makes the image rate a useful KPI here.
    • Prices are set locally. Restaurants that deliver themselves set their own delivery prices, so price spread within a city can be wide.

None of this is visible from sell-in data. All of it can be counted from the menus.

    What country teams ask first

Because the app has a different name in each country, the first questions usually come from country teams who want their own market on one page:

    • Germany and Austria (Lieferando): in which cities are we listed in fewer restaurants than our main competitor, and which restaurant types carry the gap?
    • Netherlands (Thuisbezorgd): how many restaurants show our product without an image or under a wrong name, and which are the largest?
    • UK and Ireland (Just Eat): how does our delivery price compare with Uber Eats and Deliveroo in the outlets that list on all three?

Each answer is the same KPI, filtered to one country, so a European lead can roll the countries up into one view and a country manager can drill down to the outlet list. Numeric distribution, image rate, name match and price spread are calculated the same way everywhere. When the same restaurant also matters to field sales, on-premise brand tracking adds what is listed at the venue.

Bar chart of the lowest price of a single 330 ml can of cola per UK delivery storefront by price band, September 2026, Just Eat highlighted (median GBP 1.65): GBP 0 to 1.49 25%, 1.50 to 1.99 49%, 2.00 to 2.49 14%, 2.50 to 2.99 7%, 3.00+ 5%; Deliveroo and Uber Eats in grey.

    One finding from Just Eat

In Germany, as of the September 2026 refresh, 42% of the Lieferando restaurants and shops with a drinks section had drinks marked unavailable on the day of the check, and 13% of their drink items were unavailable.

Worked example: one brand on Thuisbezorgd

Take one city on Thuisbezorgd and the outlets that list at least one soft drink. Your brand appears on 62% of their menus.

    KPICalculationResult
Numeric distributionoutlets listing your brand divided by outlets listing the category62%
Image ratelistings with an image divided by your listings40%
Name matchlistings with the correct name divided by your listings76%
Price spreadshare of your listings 20%+ above the city median price15%

The low image rate is the first job: 60% of your listings show the brand as a text line only. The category outlets without your brand, filtered to those that list a direct competitor, become the listing list for the field team.

    Frequently asked questions

Who is bigger, Just Eat or Uber Eats?

Neither is bigger everywhere: Just Eat and its sister apps lead in some countries and cities, Uber Eats in others, and the order can change from one city to the next. For a brand the useful comparison is per city, in the outlets that sell your category.

Is Lieferando the same as Just Eat?

Yes. Lieferando is the name Just Eat's group uses in Germany and Austria, and Thuisbezorgd is its name in the Netherlands. They are reported as one platform with the local name on the label.

Is Thuisbezorgd part of Just Eat?

Yes. Thuisbezorgd is the Dutch name of the same group's app, so a brand's Dutch delivery listings on it are measured with the same KPIs as Just Eat in the UK and Lieferando in Germany, and can be compared side by side.

Which countries do you cover on Just Eat, Lieferando and Thuisbezorgd?

These apps are covered in Austria (Lieferando), Belgium (Takeaway.com), Bulgaria (Takeaway.com), Germany (Lieferando), Ireland (Just Eat), Italy (Just Eat), Luxembourg (Takeaway.com), the Netherlands (Thuisbezorgd.nl), Poland (Pyszne.pl), Spain (Just Eat), Switzerland (Eat.ch), the United Kingdom (Just Eat). Coverage is city by city, and a sample shows which cities are included.

Why does my product have different names on Just Eat menus?

Many restaurants on Just Eat type their own delivery menus, so product names vary from outlet to outlet. Matching on pack size and format as well as the name keeps those listings counted as your product.

Can I compare Just Eat with Uber Eats and Deliveroo in the same city?

Yes, where each platform is covered. Outlets that list on several apps are matched, so you can see whether a gap, a missing image or a higher price is specific to Just Eat or shows up on every app.

How is the Just Eat data collected?

The data comes from the menus each outlet publishes on Just Eat, the same view a shopper has in the app, captured for every covered city on a fixed cadence. Products are matched to your range by name, pack size and format, so each listing can be counted against your own product list.

The business case for your Head of eCommerce

If Just Eat is a priority channel, these are the three points for the budget conversation:

    • Distribution and price on Just Eat you can report: listed outlets, gaps and median prices per city, each with a date.
    • Content fixed where it costs sales: outlets with missing images, wrong names or no combos, ranked so the team starts with the largest.
    • Comparable across platforms: the same KPIs on Just Eat and on the other apps in each city, so budget follows the channel that moves.
